While the FIFA World Cup is off for a few days (as the final 8 teams get ready for the final rush), Montreal is abuzz with its 31st Annual Jazz Festival and Canada Day is looming.
I'm sitting at a small side table, with my Moleskine notebook and some reading material, in a rockin' yet quaint restaurant that a sweet long-time friend introduced me to a few months back. It's called Lola Rosa Café, located in the McGill Ghetto neighbourhood of this fine city, and I highly recommend venturing out to try it! They serve "eclectic quasi-vegetarian cuisine." I'm having the Hemp Burger dish for the 2nd time in as many visits. A real hit...mmm mmm gooood. There's actually no need for dessert.
If there's something I am truly passionate about in this life; as much as music, writing and hockey; it's FOOD (and let it be fun, exquisite and AMAZING food). My cooking is improving and I'm pretty confident that one day I'll get to whip up a complete set of tasty and diverse dishes. In the meantime I'm focusing on making big, healthy breakfasts and am enjoying eating out with friends whenever possible. Damn, would I love to be a food critic some day though, to try out new meals every day! :) Hmm maybe I'll just comment on restos (and the meals I try) in blog entries and see that dream become a reality.
OK, enough for now. Will come back later...
*Time passes*
Later that day...

Later.

You definitely cook well! I can attest to that :)
ReplyDeleteThe Maharaja story is disturbing..
